Fiscal Analysis, Consideration of Ballot Measures for Potential Commercial Cannabis Businesses on June 19 City Council Agenda
The community is invited to attend the June 19 City Council meeting and join the ongoing discussion of potential commercial cannabis business activity in Half Moon Bay. The meeting begins at 7 pm, at Ted Adcock Community Center, 535 Kelly Avenue.
At this meeting, the City Council will receive a consultant's report on the potential revenues and other fiscal issues related to taxation options for possible commercial cannabis businesses in Half Moon Bay. Potential revenues under a number of different scenarios/assumptionswill be presented.
The City Council will also discuss and provide direction on preparation of a cannabis business tax measure for its subsequent approval, which would then be placed on the November ballot, as well as advisory measures related to other commercial cannabis business activity.

Update: City Council's June 5 Discussion on Draft Cannabis Nursery Ordinance
At its meeting of June 5, 2018, the City Council considered a draft Cannabis Nursery Ordinance that would license and regulate limited commercial greenhouse cultivation of immature, non-flowering cannabis nursery plants, on limited sites in Half Moon Bay.
Nearly two hours of discussion included comments from over 50 community members, who expressed a wide variety of perspectives and diverse input.
After the discussion, the City Council’s direction to staff was to:
A fiscal analysis and draft tax measure, along with a “white paper” on the commercial cannabis issue (prepared by the International City/County Management Association) will be brought to the City Council and public for discussion in the coming months.
