Compost Giveaway and Mattress/E-Waste Recycling Event
HALF MOON BAY, CA – The City of Half Moon Bay and Republic Services have scheduled a Compost Giveaway and Mattress/E-Waste Recycling Event. It’s a great opportunity for Half Moon Bay residents to get some free compost for their gardens, safely recycle their old electronics and keep them out of the landfill, and get rid of an old unused mattress and/or box spring that’s taking up space.
Saturday, October 7, 2017, 10 am - 2 pm
Our Lady of the Pillar Parking Lot
400 Church Street, Half Moon Bay
(The event will take place rain or shine)
Half Moon Bay residents can get a supply of rich compost for free to enhance their home gardens. Compost, provided by Republic Services, is an ideal amendment to enrich the soil for lawns, gardens, plants, and trees. And by using compost, wonderful organic resources are added to the soil and the use of fertilizers can be reduced.
Residents must bring their own shovels, gloves, and containers, and may take up to 1 cubic yard of compost. Compost is available while supplies last. Please note that this compost giveaway is not available to professional gardeners or landscapers, or for other commercial uses.
