Community Input Needed
on Garbage/Recycling/Green Waste Services

HALF MOON BAY, CA - The City of Half Moon Bay currently contracts with Republic Services for collection of garbage, recycling, and green waste, disposal and processing of collected materials, and street sweeping. This contract expires on December 31, 2017.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) for the successor contract is expected to be released to potential service providers in early 2017. As part of this process, the City is asking for input from community members about their needs, interests, and concerns regarding future garbage, recycling, and green waste services, which will be integrated as the RFP is being developed.

A community information meeting was held on October 20 at which the City gathered a lot of valuable information from participants. All members of the community are invited to provide input on this issue via an online survey (also available in Spanish):

The survey is also accessible from the City's website at on the Hot Topics menu.

The survey deadline is December 1, and community members are encouraged to participate and let the City know what they'd like to see in the next contract for garbage, recycling, and green waste management services.
